"Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called;

But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to onfound the things which care mighty; And the base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, hea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are; That no flesh should glory in his presence." 1 Corinthians 1:25-29

The Lord continues to bring me to this scripture this year. It says so much and has been relevent for the things happening in our lives this year. Just ponder the words...God's foolishness is wiser than our wisdom, His weakness is stronger than our strength. AND He chooses the foolish, the weak, the base, the despised, the broken, the rejected...to bring to nothing the things that are. To confound the wise, the strong, the mighty, the great. He seeks out the refuse of the world to shame the wise. He brings low the prideful and lifts up the meek.

"But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace." Psalm 37:11

He keeps reminding me that I am nothing apart from Him. But that in Him I am treasure, more valuable than gold. He's keeping me quiet, low, and meek. Watchful, listening, sober, with pure intent of the heart. I am wanting to love, like He loves. Accepting, understanding, willing, giving, of what little I have to any who are in need. We can always give more and we can never love too much. He gave everything. He gives all.

hiding in the secret of thy presence...

"Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee, which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men!
Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man; thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.
Blessed be the Lord; for he hath shown me his marvellous kindness in a strong city...
O love the Lord, all ye his saints; for the Lord preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer.
Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord." ~Psalm 31:19-24

"Mothering is beautiful. I love everything about being a mother. It is the greatest, unseen, reward. To have the love of children constantly gathered about my feet as I tend to all needs of family and home is like a lovely song that I hope will never stop playing. There is nothing else that I would rather be, a mother is who I am." ~Fairmaiden

"There is no influence so powerful as that of the mother." ~Sarah Josepha Hale (1788-1879 American pioneer and writer)

"What do girls do who haven't any mothers to help them through their troubles?" ~Louisa May Alcott (1832-1888)
"To talk to a child, to fascinate him, is much more difficult then to win an electoral victory. But it is more rewarding." ~Colette (1873-1954 french writer)

"In the fear of the LORD there is strong confidence, And His children will have a place of refuge."~Proverbs 14:26
