In The Quiet

I beg you to keep me in this silence so that I may learn from it
the word of your peace
and the word of your mercy
and the word of your gentleness to the world:
and that through me perhaps your word of peace may make itself  heard
where it has not been possible for anyone to hear it for a long time.
~ Thomas Merton

Spending more time in the quiet on these foggy  winter days...I think of the fields behind my cottage...the smell of the cold damp earth, the quiet of grey sky, and sleeping trees. Life slows down in the cold of winter. We are able to rest more and breath again.

Kerrie, your quote being of beauty is so moving.....but your written words belove moved me that much more.
You my friend, need to rethink your calling, perhaps sit and write a book of moods, it would be a best seller.
Me at the front of the line looking for my signed copy...
Sea kisses.

Something to think about my sweet soulful friend.

Kerrie I hope the mercury bottle stopped with a shell fit in somewhere in your home, it reminded me of the mercury glass you displayed on your Christmas mantel. It won't offend me if it is tucked away in a place that inspires you, it was something adding of new to your groupings of shells gathered and collected. I am feeling an Ondine day soon, perhaps this weekend I will sit and take in what inspires me with its slow moving spirit, and song.

These are words of beauty. My life has not been slow since getting back from our honeymoon. My work has resumed; my husband returned to teaching at the university this week, which is always hectic and demanding. A little quiet would suit me right now. I hope to seek some out later today. I have missed you during these hectic days and hope to be able to visit more often. Take care, Kerrie.
