I made this version of the Brocolli Salad yesterday and it is delicious. I don't follow recipes rather I make them up as I go. This is easy and so good if you want to try it...
Brocolli Candadian Bacon Salad
2 heads of Brocolli florals(4 cups chopped)
3/4 cup mayonaise
2-3 Tbsp. brown sugar
1/2 cup diced candadian bacon
1/2 cup dried cranberries
*optional 1/2 cup nuts (glazed walnuts are yummy)
Cut brocolli florals and chop into small bite size then place in a mixing bowl. Dice canadian bacon and cook in skillet for about 7 minutes until edges are browned.
Add mayo and brown sugar to brocolli. Stir till well blended. If you it is at all dry just add more mayo. Add cranberries, bacon, and nuts and toss and stir well. Eat right away or let sit in refrigerator until ready to serve. Enjoy!
I'm off to my son's tennis tournament. I will be back later to post Seaside Cove.

As we get closer to spring I like to surround myself with soft, pale florals
Rachel Ashwell is the gentle inspirer of faded and shabby sanctuaries. Most of my own 'sanctuary' is filled with her home decor
my Rachel Ashwell Shabby Chic writers desk and newest book
a quiet corner to read and write
the turqoise pillows and faded florals give just the right amount of color to the all white palette I find my calm in
a panoramic view
my new Tiny Flower notecards
the faded rose
and tiny blue flower 'keep calm'
These tiny flower watercolors are printed as notecards/placecards from my original paintings. They bring just the right amount of softness to my shabby sanctuary. I hope they will bring a gentle wash of shabby chic to your cottages and spring gatherings.

The whirling wind keeps me indoors. Winter has returned. Homemade chocolate chip scones just came out of the oven. Delicious with tea for brunch with my son. Jeremiah stays home from school. Bella and Lily like to have 'the boy' around. So do I.
I pulled out the old breadmaker and gave her a good washing. Now she hums with the making of french bread. I have yet to throw some produce in a pot of organic chicken broth and let simmer on the stovetop, to serve with fresh homemade bread in a few hours. It's one of those kind of days...where I find myself in the kitchen, doing what I love best.
