Alongshore at home...

One of the reasons I enjoy my little etsy shop so much is the customers I meet.  I have met the kindest people, many whom have become friends through extended conversations in messages and emails.   One such customer shared with me a poem he wrote during hurricane Sandy.  I thought it shared such a personal glimpse of the storm that I asked if I could share it with all of you here on my blog.

Sandy - Storm - Night Before
--------------------------------------

Alongshore at home,
light rain and
silence become unbound...
By downed leaves,
strewn 'cross the ground,
hints of storm to come.

At the harbor on their moorings
...the boats,
ride quietly but warily
afloat.
Noses pointed to the light north wind,
seeming to seek a sense...
like sleeping animals with each breath,
sniffing for danger scents.

On Singing Beach,
facing south to the sea,
light rain turns mist,
there are no waves to see...
But at water's edge,
swells sneak in and rise,
breaking wide and white,
a far storm's surprise.

Thank you Dave for sharing your poetry with me (us).   Keep writing.

Beautiful Kerrie,

I too, have built a fond relationship with etsy visitors, as well as the journey they take me on when I pack a piece upand ready it for shipping afar.

A safe beautiful week to follow you, keep inspiring the beauty out there.

It must be very satisfying Kerrie. Making a piece and wishing it a fond farewell as it leaves for a new home. Such is the beauty of creativity. Lovely poem from Dave too.

I loved the Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. We saw it at the cinema in the summer and everyone (mostly women I have to say) was of a 'certain' age. The vibrant colours and atmosphere of India was palpable, and it did make me chuckle!
